Last week I spoke with Claudia Lee, on her podcast “Our Core Things.” (Coming soon.) This is the first podcast I’ve done in a long time because at some point, I committed to finishing the book. I didn’t become less ambitious on the unhustled journey, but I allowed myself to focus on what’s most important and has the highest leverage. Two very different things.
My conversation with Claudia brought back something that’s become a pet peeve of mine over the years, and one I definitely did for a while. So I know it intimately.
I call it wellness hustle.
You leave the default path because you’ve had enough of the corporate grind, you’re burnout, you feel hollow, and you want something more.
So you start walking on your desire path: your coaching, consulting, or whatever business you’ve decided to build that gives you joy and freedom. You tell yourself you’re living an intentional, slower, more mindful life, liberated from Hustle Culture. Your Instagram is shiny, but inside you’re unraveling.
And then soon, brick by brick, you build a new prison. You work longer hours than before. You spend hours obsessing over your brand colors. You chase LinkedIn audience and Instagram followers. Hey, you may even start a podcast, because so-and-so has one and they are doing well with it. Whatever that means. Or maybe you decide to write a book that takes years. Or you want to create your high-ticket program, and now for weeks you’ve been obsessing over the copy for it.
I’ve been there. It turns into Groundhog Day pretty quickly, and soon you’re just as exhausted, and you think you made a big mistake by leaving the security of the 9-to-5.
Whatever it is, it’s now wellness hustle. And there’s no way out because, well, you’re the boss. And you can’t start another wellness thing to escape the wellness thing. Well, you could, but you still have to bring yourself for the trip.
Wellness hustle is when you’re aware of the problem and yet, painfully, can’t see a way out.
So I want to offer you a way out. One that took me years to learn.
I decided to do something crazy starting mid-October.
I’ll be building the Unhustle community and platform in preparation for my book launch. And I want you to come along for the full ride.
My goal is to build a half-million-dollar business by working 15-20 hours a week.
And you get behind the curtain and look at how I do it.
If you feel you’re in the wellness hustle, join me for a 3-month experience where we do things differently.
We’ll be building slowly, intentionally, and impactfully at the rate of about 10-15 hours a week. Along the way, I’ll be sharing my strategies, behind-the-scenes, tools and platforms, playbooks, and templates that are working in the world of AI. So your impact will be bigger without the efforting.
We’ll meet once a week for 90 min. You and 4 other people on the same journey will grow, learn, and support each other. And I’ll answer any questions, personally support you, and help you build your thing.
So that’s my offer. A community, an experience, and an intimate group of people committed to showing up and making an impact, without self-abandonment.
You’ll tap into my marketing brain for a fraction of the cost I used to charge people like Madonna.
Join me in The Slow Build — a 3-month experience for entrepreneurs building their audience and income the way I do: slow, intentional, and with AI doing the work I used to pay agencies and consultants for.
A few things we’ll talk about:
- Our addiction to productivity and what to do instead.
- How to operate with a regulated nervous system
- How to create a brand that’s so different you don’t have to compete
- Resonant messaging so you don’t sound like a robot
- The channels and platforms that don’t turn into constant hustle
- I’ll share my podcasts and PR contacts with you (this alone is worth the price of admission).
- You’ll have unlimited access to my marketing brain, the Unhustle philosophy, and a first look inside the book.
- How to leverage AI and maximize your impact
If this resonates, the investment for all 3 months is $1997. You can apply here. The deadline is Oct 12th. We start the week of Oct 19th. Only 5 people.
Any questions? Hit reply and let me know, and we can schedule a quick call to answer your questions.
So that’s it.
The Slow Build isn’t about doing less. It’s about doing only what’s high-leverage — and yes, that includes how I use AI instead of a few marketing agencies. Everything else is noise and expenses we’ll cut out so you can have more time, freedom, and income.
You in, rebel? Apply here.
P.S.
Meet me in person at the Unhustle Hour in Porto Sep 25th.
